Volunteer Opportunities
- Adopt-A-Shelf - Help shelve read fiction books to keep in correct order.
- Collectors' Corner Trading Place - talk with kids about nature at the Highland Park Library.
- Computer classes and labs - assist with or teach basic computer skills.
- Createch Mentor- Engage with teens one-on-one or in groups with digital devices and activities. Help work on projects that inspire teens to use their creativity.
- English Conversation Circles - lead discussion groups with English language learners.
- Gardening - plant and maintain flowers and plants on library grounds.
- Homework Center - tutor and mentor students of all ages.
- Innovation Lab Assistant – Assist and teach adult patrons to use 3 D computers. Laser Engravers and other innovative equipment and software in the Lab to create innovative work.
- Library Beautification- Help make the library sparkle
- Library programs and events - assist at programs with set-up, greeting and directing visitors.
- Reading Together - meet one-on-one with a student weekly to help boost reading.
- Recording Studio Assistant-Assist patrons with use of computers the equipment and software in the Recording Studio.
- Summer Reading Program - assist library staff in signing up participants, checking reading logs, and distributing prizes
- Support AARP tax preparation volunteers - greet participants, verify ID and tax documents (special training required)

- Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older.
- If you are under age 18, you must have a parent or guardian sign your application.
- Volunteers applying to work with youth must agree to a background check.
